Doman Doman Eco Lodge

She is someone different, not ordinary…

Only on foot or by 4x4 can you reach a small, bumpy path leading down from the lively village of Madina Salam to the sandy beach.
A magnificent view of the deep blue Atlantic Ocean with its small, colorful fishing boats in the distance reveals itself.
Arriving at the beach, the pastel-colored mosque sits majestically atop the cliffs of Gunjur
Doman Doman ~ Slowly Slowly

Slow living
It arises from
the simplicity of life,
listening to the birds in the morning, surrendering to the sound of the waves, being enchanted by their glow in the night, becoming completely immersed in what is there.
Then it is possible to
find your own rhythm, listen to your own melody, slow down,
just be with yourself.
It is what so many people long for.
And we in Doman Doman
live exactly that and want
to invite people to experience themself -
to live from simplicity.
What results from this?
“Discovering the meaning of life”

Staying in our small lodge allows for peace and balance
to find a life beyond drivenness.
It allows you to perceive yourself differently, to feel differently,
to feel the connection to one's own vitality and joy
to realign life.
Consciously slowing down what is happening is a choice.
It leads us to more enjoyment, mindfulness and well-being.
Because in speed the feeling for reality is lost,
we no longer listen to our gut feeling, perception is overlaid
by being too loud, too much, too fast.
The rediscovery of slowness seen as a possibility
to lead a self-determined life lived from the bottom of one's heart.

Two very individual round houses, on a large area,
which is not accessible to day visitors, provide space for privacy.
Those who come to us as a guest or in our open restaurant can relax in a sustainable structure with solar-powered well water and energy system.
Let yourself be pampered with mindful, freshly prepared meals using ingredients from regional farmers and freshly caught fish from Gunjur.
May this place of peace, long walks and
dreamy sunsets enchant your soul.

And that is us

Lamin started building the lodge 20 years ago, he trained
in the hotel business, mixed cocktails in hotels.
He cooks excellently and accompanies his guests with the finest traditional dishes,
fresh salad, Italian espresso, fresh fruit and coconut juices
from our lodge. There are ice-cold drinks and beer from the fridge.
Beate

Mariama , sister of Lamin
She gives courses in cooking on the fire, washing, guided tours through our village
or visit the market in Brikama with our guests.
She helps us with house cleaning, cooks delicious meals, does the laundry, and keeps an eye on things.
We're open year-round, and you can also book for longer periods outside of peak season. We're not a self-catering lodge.
